Harper Montgomery is the Patricia Phelps de Cisneros Professor of Modern and Contemporary Latin American Art and Distinguished Lecturer at Hunter College. She earned her Ph.D. in Art History at the University of Chicago, was a curator in the Print Department at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and co-curator of the San Juan Poly/Graphic Triennial (2004). She has organized exhibitions with Francis Alÿs, Daniel Joseph Martinez, Temporary Services, and Felipe Dulzaides, and is working on a book manuscript about abstraction and identity in Latin American Art during the 1920s.
