Frank Bowling: Right Here. Right Now.
Triangle Space and Cookhouse Galleries, Chelsea College of Art, London, UK
Frank Bowling: Right Here. Right Now celebrates Bowling's continued commitment to abstraction via the power of colour, form and paint's rich and suggestive texture and malleability. This exhibition reveals, for an artist now in his 80s, the exciting impact of a more open and collaborative approach to his painting process.
Guyana born, British trained artist, Bowling was the first Black British artist to have been elected a Royal Academician when he received the honour in 2005. An abstract painter, he graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1962, and his works are held in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum and Museum of Modern Art in New York, as well as the Tate Gallery in London.
