Luis Camnitzer: Forewords and Last Words

Luis Camnitzer: Forewords and Last Words presents a selection of prints, multiples, and artist’s books by renowned conceptual artist Luis Camnitzer, highlighting his longstanding engagement with the print medium as well as his distinctive interweaving of wordplay, wit, and sociopolitical critique. The installation recognizes Luis Camnitzer’s Printmaker Emeritus Award, conferred by the Southern Graphics Council International (SGCI) on the occasion of the 41st Annual SGCI Conference, hosted by Washington University from March 16–19, 2011.

The exhibition was curated by Buzz Spector, Dean of the College and Graduate School of Art and Jane Reuter Hitzeman and Herbert F. Hitzeman, Jr., Professor of Art.
