Bethany Collins's solo exhibition The Deluge at MCA Denver, Colorado on view beginning on March 5, 2026.
MCA Denver's press release follows:
Opening in spring 2026, Chicago-based artist Bethany Collins presents The Deluge, an exhibition of multiple bodies of works, each navigating an existential storm. Collins culls references from literary pillars ranging from Herman Melville’s Moby Dick and Sophicles’ Antigone, to songs rooted in history and Americana, creating sculptural, auditory, and paper-based works that offer inspiration for weathering tumultuous political times.
The exhibition will feature recent works by Collins, which deepen the artist’s conceptual and formal investigations into the malleability of language. For Collins, language, and specifically the written word, serves myriad purposes. Text is a record of history, an expansive world-making tool, and source of solace and inspiration. Mining several texts within this exhibition, Collins’ works act as waypoints for contemplation offering messages of warning, care, resistance and reflection.
