Currently on display at the Contemporary Art Institute (IAC) in São Paulo is the exhibition "Modus Operandi" by visual artist Regina Silveira, starting this Saturday, March 22. The show, curated by Agnaldo Farias, consists of eight sections that include works, drawings, videos, and models, occupying two exhibition rooms and the café area.
The exhibition highlights Silveira's creative processes over different periods, featuring works that have been exhibited in Brazil and other countries such as Belgium, the United States, Mexico, Chile, and Japan. Admission is free and will remain open until July 26, 2025.
On this occasion, the donation of the artist's archives to the IAC will also be celebrated, aiming to facilitate research on her work. Silveira seeks to highlight the development of her ideas and the transformations throughout her career, which encompasses a variety of approaches, from multimedia to digital installations.
Farias's curation highlights Silveira's methodical visual calculation, which transforms three-dimensional elements into two-dimensional works, continuously testing and adjusting her design until she finds the desired form. This process reveals the absences that become impactful presences, equivalent to physical objects.
