Dyani White Hawk: Love Language at the Remai Modern, Saskatoon
This major retrospective dedicated to the Minneapolis artist Dyani White Hawk features her large-scale panels and sculptures made from beads, glass and mosaic, and inspired by Lakota traditions. Working in a studio where family members help her thread beads, she has enlarged the traditional art form once used on clothing tocreate oversized panels destined for museums, introducing an Indigenous visual vocabulary as a branch of abstraction.
