Márcia Falcão’s painting weaves an autobiographical narrative in which the female body becomes a site of tension between beauty and violence. Drawing from the Rio de Janeiro suburbs, where she was born, lives, and works, Falcão incorporates the landscape and experiences of her surroundings into her practice.
